Description
Custom 465® Stainless Steel is a patented high-performance alloy engineered to deliver exceptional mechanical strength along with superior corrosion resistance, even in chloride-bearing environments. It is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel developed by Carpenter Technology, offering tensile strengths exceeding 250 ksi (1725 MPa) after appropriate heat treatment.
Thanks to its unique chemistry and microstructure, Custom 465 is extensively used in aerospace structural components, surgical instruments, missile systems, oil & gas hardware, and high-stress fasteners — where both strength and corrosion resistance are mission-critical.
It is readily machinable in the annealed condition, and after aging heat treatment, maintains excellent toughness and fatigue resistance with minimal distortion.
